      Potentially Unnecessary Software (LPS).

Some programs or applications can be described as superfluous. These are mostly legitimate programs that may not be necessary for your system to function properly.

The multiplication of programs launched at system startup can cause delays in the execution of ordinary system tasks but also when browsing the Internet. Browser toolbars or “toolbars” are not affected by this article.

In this article will be studied successively:

      • software updates,
      • additional protection solutions,
      • optimization software.

      Software updates.

First of all, in this category there are certain publishers who offer device driver update software.

This software seems superfluous to me since device software developers already include an automatic update feature in their drivers. Also note that the operating system also includes detection of new peripherals and that it is possible to perform upgrades via its interface. This software can be deleted because it does not provide any particular added value.

Some examples : DealWifi, Driver2Updates, IQIYIVideo, Paretologic, PCCAre, DriverBoost, DriverGenius, DriverSoft, DriverToolkit, DriverWhiz…

      Overview in the ZHPDiag report:

      Antivirus scan extract:

      riskware program Program.Unwanted.681 [Dr.Web]
      Win.Adware.Agent-7758 [Clam AntiVirus]
      TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen [Avira AntiVirus]
      SUP.Megaify
      PUP.Optional.DriverToolkit [Malwarebytes]
      Detection.Undefined [ESET NOD32]

      Additional protection solutions.

Then the superfluous category lists antiviral or antimalware solutions complementary to your resident antivirus.

Some software even offers a paid version even though free solutions are available. We must also avoid having several redundant antiviral solutions. You can use Microsoft Defender, a free solution built into Windows 10.

Some examples: AppVerifierService, CyberDefender, DoctoAntivirus, DoctorPC, MalwareProtection, MPCCleaner, HPDefender…

      Malwarebytes Adware.HPDefender
      Yandex PUA.HPDefender! 20170726

      Optimization software.

Finally, some software that is supposed to optimize your system is classified as unnecessary.

The Windows operating system already includes many features such as defragmentation, backup and various cleanups. Please note that this software may offer a paid version after diagnosis.

Examples: Privacy Protector Plus, Advanced PC Care, DoulCi Activator, PC Speed Maximizer, PC Speed Optimizer…

      Program.Unwanted.1178 20151227 [DrWeb]
      PUP/PCSpeedMaximizer [Panda]

Also note that some programs come from downloads with software packaging. These additional programs are obviously superfluous, they can even be installed without your knowledge. It is recommended to read the EULA carefully before installing packaged software. Check the relevance of the pre-checked boxes offered to you.

Examples: AedgePerformance, PCSpeedUp, Piratrax, Softonic, Solvusoft…

      HOW TO REMOVE UNPERFLUOUS SOFTWARE?

      Delete with Windows

      Delete with ZHPCleaner

         Delete with ZHPSuite
