Microsoft considers that the VBScript language opens too many security vulnerabilities and that it should be permanently separated.

Also, in its next update on Tuesday, August 13, Microsoft plans to disable VBScript by default in Internet Explorer for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1.

According to an Microsoft press release"In later versions of Windows and future updates, we intend to disable running VBScript by default in Internet Explorer 11 for websites in the Internet zone and Restricted Sites zone. The parameters allowing you to activate, deactivate or request the execution of VBScript in Internet Explorer 11 remain configurable by security zone of the site, via the registry or via group policy, for a limited period. We will post future updates here, ahead of changes to the default settings for running VBScript in Internet Explorer 11. ” (Sources)

Le Patch Tuesday, which occurs on the second Tuesday of each month, is the day when Microsoft makes the latest security patches for its software available to its customers (in French, “update”). Started with Windows 98, Microsoft uses the Windows Update system which allows you to check the security patches to be applied to Windows. This system has since been updated to also include updates to the company's other products, including Office. In order to reduce the costs generated by the deployment of patches, Microsoft created the concept of Patch Tuesday. The idea is that patches are accumulated over a month and then distributed on a specific day so that system administrators can prepare. This date was set roughly at the start of the week, and far enough from the end so that any possible problems would be corrected before the weekend. System administrators can plan as “update day” the second Tuesday of each month and prepare accordingly.
