Un ransomware, or ransomware, is malware that takes personal data hostage. To do this, ransomware encrypts personal data and then asks its owner to send money in exchange for the key that will allow it to be decrypted. Ransomware can also block any user's access to a machine until a key or unblocking tool is sent to the victim in exchange for a sum of money but without any real guarantee. Many resident security solutions provide real-time protection against ransomware. But gangs regularly evolve their ransomware to counter the decryption keys offered. Some ransomware like Raas babuk are real scams and do not provide the decryption key after the ransom is paid. Generally security experts and legal authorities recommend not paying the requested ransom.
